Personality

Despite the circumstances surrounding her relocation to Eorzea some ten years ago, Kasame is a friendly, kind and trusting girl. Having been raised by her swordsmith mother, she learned very early that with hard work, kindness, good friends, and enough determination, she could accomplish almost anything. And so she internalized those teachings, carrying them with her in every aspect from her training to her social life.

-Raised in the village surrounding Doma Castle, Kasame grew up the daughter of a pair of blacksmiths under the thumb of Imperial Rule. In order to survive, her parents often found themselves having to provide steel to the Imperial forces, which often earned the scorn of her fellow Domans, and slowly grew a hatred in the growing girl for the Imperials at large. Eventually, Kasame's parents became entwined with the Doman Resistance, secretly providing weaponry to the freedom fighters. When that rebellion failed, however, Kasame's father was killed in the fighting, her mother taking her daughter and what funds she could, and fleeing to Eorzea with the other refugees.

After moons adrift, the boat finally touched down in Vesper Bay, and after a resettling in Mor Dhona, Kasame's mother took to the forge to provide for her daughter once more. For five years, she worked to provide for herself and her child on the rough frontier, until she finally passed on to join her husband, leaving Kasame (Now an adult) alone.Kasame hadn't spent the years idle, however. Inspired by the tales of the great adventurers of this land, Kasame spent her free time practicing and training, playing Adventure with the other kids until her mother passed, and it was time for her to see the world and become one of those great adventurers.After finally fulfilling her mother's final wish of spreading her mother's ashes over her old forge in the ruins of Doma, Kasame found a diary in the ruins of her childhood home that outlined the truth of her origins.Her mother was unable to conceive a child, and after many years of praying to the Kami for a chilld, they were blessed with one. While returning from a trip to gather ore, the couple's path was crossed by a large, wounded black fox carrying a baby by its nape. The baby had a stubby little fluffy tail, and big ears. When the fox saw the couple, it left the child with them, and continued running from a rapidly approaching band of Onmyoji that were hunting the fox.Swaddling the child in an emptied out ore sack, the two blacksmiths returned home. The next day, the child had changed, her ears and tail being replaced with a scaled tail and horns to match. From that day forward, she was raised as the couple's daughter.Along with the diary, Kasame found a detailed ritual to undo the changes from her infancy, returning Kasame to her true shape.

Kasame is currently a card-carrying member of the Adventurer's Guild, traveling from city to city, working for the joy of the adventure, and looking for new avenues of employment.
